Here is my first shot at aves apoxie sculpt as recommended by various amazing custom makers here on the tank. I was about to start big but decided to try and sculpt around an existing head (firefly) first to make an America's Elite accurate Storm Shadow. It turned out better than expected as my expectations consisted of me getting frustrated and throwing something. ANY TIPS ON BETTER USING APOXIE ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED but like anything I'm sure its just more practice practice practice. Thanks for looking!

looking good so far,
Tip: after throughly mixing the 2 parts, let it sit 1/2hr or so before actually sculpting with it |

Q: Do you wear gloves when mixing? When sculpting? I've only been doing the former. |

Pretty damn cool, I always loved this version of Stormshadow. Can't wait to see it finished.

Have a small dish of water, and dip your fingers in it when you're working with it. It'll help keep it from sticking to your fingers.

liking how the arms are turning out. the 1st time I sculpted with regular Aves Apoxie I didn't use gloves and got a terrible rash, after that I always wore gloves. When I switched to Aves Fix-it I found I no longer needed the gloves. |

I use nitrile gloves when sculpting to prevent fingerprints and mudging. Also, use water on your tools and fingertips. A tip on the seams: use very thin gauge florists wire or rubber string. It glues on easily, and will form closely to your parts. I used it for the piping on my Gung Ho Dress Blues here - http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...s-blues-7.html .
