Hello guys I'm currently setting up my ocean bottom. I have everything settled except one detail.
Some of the divers I wanted to give the sensation that were actually swimming instead of just laying them on the bottom. I've been going around trying to find something for this. What I wanted was something in clear so that it would be less noticible and that would provide a 2 - 3 cm of elevation. So far my ideas: - Using those Sigma 6 Shark bit bases: some you can use others not really and I have to place a clear elastic around the figure and base so that he doesn't fall besides it is in blue color - cut the top part of a water bottle: this makes a cone shape stand but because it is light requires also an elastic around both. Besides the figure doesn't lay too well on it. - Gundam stands: these seem to be good from what i've seen but im not willing to pay almost $10 for each. If I needed one only maybe I would do it but I need 3 or 4. So suggestions are welcome. These is to be used in 25th style figures and a couple of JoesVsCobra no o-ring style figures Wet-Suit and Moray go figure I like those 2 figures Thanks

my only answer is light fishing line. the thinnest you can get on the market, and suspend them. if you have walls or a cieling on your display , this can be done. if you got this shit set up on top of a dresser, then it can not..
and you will notice a water bottle before you will notice 2 or 4 lb string |

if the top is glass you can attempt to super glue the strings to it.

What about Marauder's Clear IDS Action Figure Stands? You could build a tower and then have divers 'standing' on the side to look like they're suspended in water. Use some floral covering to hide the stands or just leave them since they're clear.
You can see them in use here. |

I can't remember the exact diameter of the foot peg hole on the figures, but you should be able to get clear plastic rods in that size from your hobby store. Just use a little heat to help soften the rod so that it can be bent. Then just attach the rod to something sturdy.
You could also heat the rod to form a clear C-type "girdle" to fit around the figures' waist and glue another piece of clear rod to the bottom to attach to a base. This would work much like the C-type girdle that is in the seat of the Cobra Flight Pods (Trouble Bubbles). I think this way would be more stable. Good Luck.

I think you are talking about acrylic rods right? How should I heat them with fire or simply boiling water/hair dryer?
