the hobby lobby by my work had all exacto blades on sale last month... you never know, it might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the tutorial echo, I've never tried to fix my "Duke armed" figures, I usually just stare at them in disgust, I'll get my water boiling immediately.

definately looks better holding the weapon. but how about some pictures showing the fixed figure NOT holding a weapon with his arms straight? I'd like to see if this still looks good before I start mangling my Joes.

I agree, the blow dryer is faster, safer and you don't have to wipe water out of all the figures nokes and crannies. I've taken apart tons of figures this way and it works great.

I trimmed mine down w/ exacto without removing the arms. To me still looks good and arms work fine. Just gotta be a little more careful.

I use a non heating method too. The plastic is already soft enough that u just use a exacto knife and and trim the inside of the arm. Takes a few seconds.

sorry I'll get around to posting pics of the arms without weapons. I'll try in the next few days, I'm running behind on a lot of stuff with the new customs I'm working on.

Will a hair dryer be a good replacement for boiling water in a pan? Thats what I usually do to soften up joints.
