I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find any topics on this...
You see, I've always had an issue with paint rub on my Weapons... With the silver swords with black handles that Hasbro produced (ROC/POC Snake Eyes, for example), I've tried to keep the original paint, but the silver rubs off after some play... Now I've tried to repaint them using gun metal, and I get the color I want... But then, the paint still rubs off... I tried giving the blades an alcohol bath, no dice... I've tried sanding them a little bit (I'm actually afraid of sanding, because I'd lose the detail of the figs), but still no dice... HELP PLEASE...!! Thanks in advance...

Get used to repainting them or don't muck with em after painting them.
What I'm try to say is, expect it to happen no matter what you do. Here are some tips to extend the life of your paint but nothing lasts forever if you're handling/articulating/playing with - whatever....here you go... Reducing Joint Rub and Paint Wear Maybe try the super glue method^. You could also sand the weapon handles down a little so they aren't as big around therefore reducing friction. If you're not using "model" paints, make the upgrade, if you are...keep in mind even the paint on a new car scratches easily. Model paint theoretically should go on a model and be "displayed". What works best for me is reducing as much wear as possible before applying any paint. What paint are you using ?

I've always wondered how Hasbro keeps their paints on so damn good. I've looked up several different ways and I came across something stating that they may heat cure the painted figures. I don't know if this means you can put them in a oven for a certain period of time on a particular temperature or if you can just blow dry them with a hairdryer.

i have a nasty habit of not giving paint an adequate amount of time to dry....so you might wanna keep that in mind if you're moderately impatient as I can be.
i'm surprised that you are actually having issue with the blades and not the handles... |
