I recently picked up the MEGA BLOKS HALO PELICAN, it was a beast to put together and I think every MB set should come with krazy glue, but all in all, very cool. I put together the warthog last night, that was even worse, even tho its smaller. Great news is this, you can add some pieces to the back and hook up the warthog and have your Pelican drop it. Being inspired by my accomplishment of this task, I wanted to make a Joe scale Pelican. I made the body in M.B. this last weekend but left it, learned alot about what not to do. After finishing making the brick Pelican, I saw alot of where my design went wrong. I found Clutch and Vamp package last night and got to work. The Pelican will be about 28-30 inches long. The engines will be made from those tall and med crystal light containers. I want to keep the cockpit as a two seater but might have to go down to a one seater. I want to incorporate a gear mechanism to move all 4 engines --two in the tail, two in the main body--like the SIGMA 6 Dragonhawk. Anyone know how to do this, please lmk. The Vamp will either hook on by an "I" rod rail or clips on the roll bars on the side or possible just a very flat hook (think of a U on its side-it would slid thru the roll cage and then a clip or something to lock it in place. The main body will seat 4-6 Joes with cargo space and a flip down ramp door. I plan on using Foamboard just because its the easiest to work with and cheapest. Any suggestions would be welcome. The cockpit cover looks easy enough to make so I might go with the two seater. Oh yeah, there will be a handle up top built in like the Dragonhawk with the roll gear for engine movement. Actually I have an extra Dragonhawk where the engines dont align, might just cannibilize that and take the legs off and modify the cockpit. I dont need an exact duplicate of the Pelican, but I would like something close. Any ideas of suggestions are welcome. The avg width of the fuselage will be 6 inches at its widest point.
