I have a Lanard Hummer that I bought on eBay. I bought it as a custom Cobra vehicle. I was unsatisfied with paint job and stickers upon receiving it. I now want to restore it as close as possible to original and repaint it. Has anyone ever used Goo gone Pro-Power Spray Gel? Contains Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether. Is that safe for plastics? Thanks in advance for any help?

I have used Goo gone to remove price tags on carded figures and it was fine. I have also used it on a few figs. My advice is to try it on a junk item just to see if there is any unsavory affects.

I used Goo Gone a few years back to clean very old and nasty sticker residue off of a Skystriker, It worked perfectly. However I also learned that it'll take the paint off the stickers

It's really good for transferring photocopied images to other surfaces but I've never tried it as a paint remover. I know on a custom figure I painted with acryllic, I was able to remove most of my paint with boiling water.

i had something really sticky, not sure what the heck it was, all over my $800 carbon fiber hood on my car.
got osme of the exact spray you are talking about. sprayed it on and let it soak for about 2 minutes while i looked for a rag in my car. took a little elbow grease, but it came right up. nothing happened to the finish of the hood at all. i would say go for it. goo-gone is great stuff! oh, RC car guys also use it to clean out thier old polycarbonite bodies to prep them for a new paint job. should be totally safe.

Thanks for all the replies. I am just starting to work on some customizing projects that I have wanted to work on for a long time. I'm sure I will have more questions. I think I will test it on a junk piece first, just to be sure.
