Yep- ^
I use a mounted C-clamp, to pop the upper torso. Just wrap the figure tightly in a shop rag before you do it. This protects the figure and keeps the parts from flying when you hear the pop. Place the figure with the shoulders covered and pressed against each end of the clamp. Turn until you hear the pop. I was dubious of this method when I first read about it here, but now it is the only way I take apart the newer figures. |

Thank you everyone for your advice. :-) I'll probably need to do a torso crack eventually, but I don't have a vice right now. Yet another thing to add to my "To Get" list for when I buy my house, lol. |

I did it, and the peg needed to be shaved down a tad, since it was bigger than the other arm's. I haven't glued yet, and like you said, I might not need to. It'd be cool if I didn't have to.

The other day I bought a USS Flagg for $50. It's missing 3 parts(mast cap, tow vehicle, and the 2 Y-pins). All the parts that were white are now yellowish. Is there anything special way to clean off the yellowness or do I have to paint it? If so what paint is best to make it look good and stronger?
Thank you |

Thank you I use Krylon Fusion for all of my vehicle work. It is a little more expensive per can but you dont need any primer. It covers much better than non-brand spray paint and has a nice finish. |

What's the best color for dry brushing on white? I have a Storm Shadow custom in mind and I want to add some depth and detail without making him look too dirty.
Thanks!

personally, i like subtle drybrushing, stark contrasts in color say black over white in this instance looks out of place. to me drybrushing sould be done using progressively lighter shades of the same base color. if it was me Id probably base in a grey, most likely a light grey, providing the slightly darker recessed areas and better coverage of the white dry brushing. but thats just me. comes down to personal preference in the end so try experiment and find what you like best.

I've never swapped 25th chest parts before. Is it difficult.

Some of the lower torso's don't match up well with the upper torso's. But just a matter of cracking the torso and giving it a try. Sometimes the problem is just the peg, which can be dremmeled down. But if it just doesn't work from a size standpoint, that's a bigger problem.
