Anybody have any progress on a Zissou figure? Would love to see any WIPs. I think I'm going with the Obi-Wan head, but still can't figure out the hat. RoC Shippy's head is too big to borrow his watch cap. Suggestions?

Hey Guys - I am currently working on some Zissou customs and I thought I'd let you know what I'm doing.
1. The customs figures in the movie were repainted Adventure People figures from Fischer Price. I picked up the "space commander" which looks a lot like Steve. 2. To fix the red cap dilemma I picked up some aves sculpting material - I'm going to sculpt a cap and paint it. 3. Thanks to those who suggested using an Obi-Wan head. I'm making a "frogman" Zissou. I got a knock-off GI JOE (really bad quality mold and paint) which I cut off most of the details from, sanded it down, and I'm going to repaint after I sculpt a Zissou belly on it. I'll post pictures of the process and the result when I'm done. Thanks again for pointing me towards 3.75 scale figures - it's making this project more fun than 6 inch scale would have been. |

Hi Guys,
I finished my Steve Zissou Action figure. Upper Body, Head, and arms - 1985 Shipwreck. Pried the hat off of shipwreck and sculpted a red beanie. Lower Body - 2002 (I think) Shipwreck. Removed a lot of details with a file and sandpaper, then a total repaint. |

Nice job! It's cool you went with o-ring. Very Team Zissou.
Weapon X, it wouldn't let me see the images. |
