So got a perfect formula for Iron Grenadier Roddy Piper, which thanks to a upcoming Mattel figure is super easy.


So Mattel has a new WWE figure coming out of Roddy Piper with their Ultimate line. For those unfamiliar, the ultimate line includes a ton of extra features. Hands, arms, heads, clothing, ect.

I had been planning on making a Roddy Piper using a different WWE figure, but this one that's coming out takes care of 95% of the work



as you can see, he comes with a number of great extras. especially the fact that he has molded jacket arms and doesnt wear a rubber or cloth jacket like Mattel or Jakks likes to do for their figures. The boots on the figure are black which match the original figure's boots as well.
The downside is the Kilt is more colorful. This can be solved with either a simple cut pattern or purchasing a preowned piper figure off ebay
The other thing that is different from the original gi joe figure is the heads are for a older Roddy circa 1998 while the head used in the gi joe figure is based on Roddy in his mid 80s days to sync up with Sgt Slaughter.
The heads with this main ultimate set works great if you use the modern Valaverse Slaughter figure. But if you want that younger 80s look, there is a 2nd Ultimate figure coming which has the heads youre looking for.


next is the shirt, there is a ebay store that'll print off custom shirts for you to use at a low price, or you can scratch make one. I've included the ebay store as I've used this guy before, as well as a custom made logo for the Destro shirt that I made myself using photoshop on an existing yellow png.

Lastly is the Helmet. The Helmet itself is the tricker bit as the Piper figure has a distinct cobra helmet. I'm activly hunting for a helmet that would fit that style, be it first or third party. But the helmet isnt important to the overall figure and is optional. This is my formula for a Roddy Piper Classified Figure. Now just need the damn ultimate figures to be released to do it.
