I am a complete noob when it comes to customizing Marauder Task Force figures. I was planning to make a custom Steeler by swapping out armored forarms/hands with cloth forarms/hands, but then I started reading about using hairdryers to heat parts. Is this necessary or can I just yank the parts apart? And what is boil and pop? Is that just for the torsos? Please forgive my ignorance.
Thanks, Steve

To change arms at the elbows or wrists (or feet at the ankles), you'll need to heat the plastic some and then pull the forearm or foot, or hand out. You'll need to heat the new piece that you want to put in. The easiest way to do this is to let the pieces sit in hot water for about 35-40 seconds. Then pull the forearm off, and put the new one on. I use hot water from a Kureg to cut time on heating it. You could also microwave water till it boils some.
If you don't do this, the pegs on the forearms, wrists, or feet may snap off.

I had this same question last week. I can confirm that placing them in hot water for around a minute and then pulling them apart will work.

This was probably addressed in the past but I'd really appreciate the customizers' input on how to swap knees/lower legs on a MGR figure. Basically trying to swap ME joe knees'/lower legs so I boiled water and submerged part to make sure they're softened. For the life of me I cannot get the pin to pop out essentially damaging a pair of legs in the process.

Once you learn the trick, is pretty easy. You also need to have the right tools. I use a jewelers screwdriver with a hex head, but a flat head (or any number of similar tools) would work, as well. The head just needs to be smaller than the smaller end of the knee pin. I usually set the leg on top of a hex socket (like you would get in a socket wrench set). I position the leg on its side so that the knee is directly over the opening in the socket, with the smaller end of the pin facing up. I then position the screwdriver over the pin and gently tap it to push the pin through. (The leg should be pre-heated, by the way. I use hot water, as suggested by others.) The pin should come out pretty easily, falling into the socket hole. To reassemble the leg, just line up the pieces and push the pin back in. I usually just do that with my fingers.
