Hey all, I?ve been thinking about getting and trying model master acrylic clear flat coat. I never used any kind of coating before on any of my customs. They hold up pretty well but occasionally I will get a Little chipping at elbow and shoulder joints occasionally on some but not all of my customs.

Does anyone have any experience using this stuff? Does it prevent any and all chipping? I?m just trying to figure out how good this stuff is and if it?s worth buying. Like I said earlier the chipping at joints I do get is minimal and only happens to about 30% of my customs.

Any info greatly appreciated!

Bump.

I just really want to know if it makes a difference at the joints or if you still need to sand the joints down. I know someone must know on here.

Hey there. I recommend Mr. Clear Matte spray. It's incredible. Very fine mist and almost impossible to mess up. It's a little spendy but you'll understand exactly where your money went. Can't recommend it enough.

I still sand the joints down. Even with the spray if there's rub it'll probably still chip the paint. Some people say brushing glue on the joints helps, I don't trust myself in the least attempting that.

I used to use Dullcote but since that's not an option anymore my personal preference has been Mr. Clear as well.
