Hey guys. I’m sure this has to be covered here somewhere, but feel there’s so many places it could be , even using the search function.
So my question is I’m wanting to paint a marvel legends figure wearing all black- and do yellow highlights....so do I prime it? I essentially use the acrylic paints found at Walmart (apple brand) - is there a primer to use I can find there or maybe use just a grey or black? Any help would be great- thanks in advance.

I assume you hand paint? Walmart doesn't carry a real good primer I know of besides the Krylon stuff. Your best bet would probably be starting with white or off-white and painting yellow over it.
I like Vallejo's acrylic primer for hand painting, as it's reasonably durable and easy to work with. Though, you'll probably have to go online to get that.

You want to use the acrylic paint from a nerdy hobby store. Hobby Lobby has a model painting section. Use the paints from there. I think those Apple acrylic paints do not stick to action figures that well. You want to use brands like Vallejo, Model Masters, Tamaya, and others. Just make sure they are acrylic paints, and not enamel.
I use a the Vallejo white acrylic primer too, when I'm going from dark to light.
