Hey everyone,
So thanks to these forums, I've found some really cool places that sell custom pieces online. The work people do with casting, 3-D printing and ingenuity is astounding! I've also found ninety percent of what I'm looking for through these sites. Since a lot of you have experience with kitbashing and customizing, I was wondering about the compatibility of pieces across these different sites. For example: There's a biker character I'd like to create. I've found a head and torso that are absolutely perfect from Angelforge, I've found legs from Marauder Gun runners (their blue German soldier's legs with the boots are just what I'm looking for). I think the white t-shirt arms from Marauder should work, too (though I'd have to find some compatible finger-cut gloved hands) I know in some cases sanding or other measure are required to make it work, but in theory, should these fit together for the final figure? Thank you all so much Last edited by superby1; 02-04-2021 at 10:43 PM.. |

There's certainly ways and means.
I've never worked with angel forge torsos, but I think they are generally meant for GI Joe parts? That may be important as the shoulder pins on MTF are longer than most Joe pins, meaning the arm will protrude- though modification is possible. As far as the legs, if you out fit the torso with an MTF t-bar instead of a Joe one, that should solve that problem. Though, I'd wait to hear from someone who has worked with AngelForge specifically, as I'm only speculating based on other work I've seen. As far as finger-cut glove hands- The Marvel Universe Commander Rogers/Steve Rogers figure might be a viable option.

Axonrey, what can I say, you've been a paragon of great advice! I'll definitely ask about Angel Forge. While the torso piece is perfect for what I'm looking for (a leather biker jacket with the t-shirt sticking out)if it's not compatible, I do have a back up in AVAC's Lab's "High Command Jacket" which would hopefully fit over a white t-shirt Marauder figure and I could use the Marauder Blue German Soldier legs for the lower half.
I'll take a look at the Marvel Universe Steve Rogers figure. I didn't know they're hands popped off. And if worst comes to worst, I could always just paint a pair of grabby hands to look like fingerless gloves. |

I've been working with an AF torso as we speak and the innards are definitely built for Joe arms and legs.

I've ordered the parts from different places, but I've also found several places that show the innards of modern Joe, Marauder and Boss Fight. It's really fascinating stuff!

I do torso work from angel, and they aren’t not compatible with MTF without heavy customizing.
T bars are different sizes. Dremel and correct measurements is the best way . Angel forges come disassembled so you have to internal modding to make sure it all fits. Good luck!

Echoing everyone else here as Angelforge torsos are only compatible with Joe parts unless you are going to HEAVILY modify them. I think they are sculpted on top of Joe torsos and then cast. That is just a guess but the insides of the torsos are identical to 25th Joe.

This is all great advice! The only thing I've ordered from Angelforge is one torso and two heads. I want to see how my back-up idea plays out with Marauder parts and a custom vest to go over marauder parts before looking into whether or not there are Joe parts to match what I have in mind.
The only downside is Marauder will take a while to ship to me (the e-mail I got says it could be a week to three weeks delay) and I haven't heard back from Angelforge in terms of a timeframe of when my stuff would ship. All these great ideas but sadly we're in a pandemic so a lot of stuff is delayed. I'm trying to find loose figures/parts on ebay to be more familiar with how the parts differ and fit together, but that's a bit of a challenge these days, too. I guess I just have to be patient |
