Hi i was wondering what type of materials i should use for custom windows since im trying to add them to a elite force humvee. i was thinking about using clear vinyl but im curious if their are better options out there.

Ozzy92 has recommended the plastic on a carded figure bubble for car windows before. Easy and cheap.

If you want something more flexible, like acetate, look into gels for theater lenses/lights. They come in colors too. Amazon has them.

Cheap poster frames have a big sheet of clear styrene to cover the poster instead of glass. You can often find 24" x 36" frames for $10 on sale at craft stores or Walmart.
Note: use a sharp knife and work slowly. The styrene can sometimes be a bit brittle and crack along an unintended line. |

yeah, but i've kind of been struggling to find some decent window stuff for some spaceships ive been making. in mini communities they're saying to use projector paper/acetate but that's far too thin for 1:18 scale stuff.
i've used figure bubbles and poster frame plastic. if lighting gels are thicker than that this thread helped me get some yellow ones. |
