I'm curious, has anyone mixed 50th gi Joe legs onto Marauder torsos?
Success, failures, lessons learned? If successful, pics please. 😁 |

Okay, so these aren't the entire legs, but I was able to put the lower legs from a POC/50th Steel Brigade figure onto a MTF figure. I don't know if that helps you, but here is how they looked (painted, of course).

Shakka,
Nice work. That answers one of the questions I had in mind. Curious as to I how well, or how much modification is needed for placing the thighs with the marauder torso as well. Thank you for r getting pic. It helps. 😁 |

I know that I have put MTF legs on Joe bodies, and the ball joints on the ends of the T-bars have to be built up, as the MTF sockets are bigger. That being said, I imagine the opposite would need to be done to get the Joe legs on the MTF waists, which means some dremeling may need to be done to the inner channels/sockets on the Joe legs to make them bigger, so the ball joints on the MTF figures will fit in them. Just thinking this out as I am typing it, so hope this makes sense... This figure used a Joe T-bar with the MTF legs, and in this case I used gel Super-Glue to build up the ball joint... Again, I don't know if this helps, but just so you can see that there are ways to make the two lines work together.

I have done it one time, although i don't have any pictures of it.
I cut the plastic t-bar off at both ends and drilled a hole through. Then i removed a Joe t-bar from a fodder figure, clipped off the top part, and put it through the hole in the Marauder crotch. Then just glued it in place. Probably not the easiest way to do it though. |

Sure have. Only for the current MTF. The WW2 joins are bigger and require a different type of customization.
Although the MTF legs are bigger, just remember : Clay allows play, glue you’re screwed.

Guys,
I appreciate the advice and the visuals. Love the clay let's you play... It all helps me Plan/ Design. With so many resources out there right now i.e. GI Joe, BossFightStudios, Marauder Gun Runners, Chicken Fried Toys, Joy Toy, Chap Mei and others, It's a great time to be an Adult kid. Probably just as expensive as any other Vice, but at least we have customs to show for it. I should get off my rear and learn how to post finish pics. Some of you guys out there look like professional photographers. |
