My good sir ,have you ever tried? green stuff worlds? plastic safe paint remover , it use to be sold by another company years ago , it seems to be the same formula as the green stuff remover is it smells exactly the same it will melt soft plastic like the clear plastic they use on droids like K-2SO or the joints in classified shoulders . Use it sparingky and it should work ,
I ordered it from the uk and it arrived in 5 days after ordering it on a saturday afternoon . The bottle runs about $15 or so i ordered 2 because why not ,Hope this helps Just remembered another alternative is mineral spirits its not very hot like goo gone or acetone is .. Use sparingly .. Then tried my mineral spirits. Once again the Q-tips started taking off a little more paint but after 10 minutes of scrubbing it was bed time. Maybe I will try the mineral spirits again using steel wool or something a bit rougher. The suggestion to use the Goo Gone on the Acetone damage to clean it up is also sound (and cannot do any harm). Stuff to work on Sunday night. I did check the Green Stuff website and it looks interesting. As does the LAs Totally Awesome Yellow Cleaner and finding some Testors Easy Lift Off. Great suggestions, everyone! |

yeah an added plus is i dont just use la's totally awesome for removing paint from botched paint jobs. it's an all purpose cleaner. i use it for everything around the house.
put that sucker in a spray bottle and you can clean stains off clothes, dump it in your wet vac and clean up carpet stains. it's good stuff. it was in my house before i used it for my hobby crap. and hte reason for that, is i was watching all kinds of videos about people using simple green to remove paint from their miniatures. i was like "oh, neat simple green has been a staple in my laundry room for ages. i have la's totally awesome for the same reason right now. i wonder if that will clean up this crappy paint job." and it did. also, the crafsman steadycraftin is great. he hasnt posted much lately, but it's always good when he does.
