Definitely give your customs different looks than Joe, Marauder or Boss Fight parts so I enjoy them, here are some guys I made with them: I just need to find some stands that fit their feet, so far only the Fortnite ones work and those are huge and I don’t have many.

Good to know. Definitely going to boil some water to try. I'm using female figures too which are already thinner parts wise. Hopefully nothing snaps.

I only had that one break so you should be fine, it was one of those where I knew I was tempting fate as well so kind of my fault.
Always want one of their female figures but just haven’t pulled the trigger on any yet. Definitely post some pics when you’re done! Would love to see some more customs with them since I’ve only worked with three styles so far. Definitely have some cool stuff, prices just make it hard to pick more of them up.

Cool man, looking good, last custom I used Green Stuff on was the Red Shadow custom a while back, The Kraken…
…was a bit of a nightmare for me, loves sticking to everything but the figure, I guess it depends on the plastic its sticking to too, could be? JoyToys ain’t fragile at all, none of my lot are anyways, they seem a lot tougher than modern GI Joe thats for sure. |

For the record, with some hot water JoyToy figures basically fall apart. Was the easiest disassembly I've ever tried. Now what's the best way to crack a MTF torso?

Same as a ME Joe torso. Vise grips and a sock, or a vise and a sock.

Having issues with paint rub (on non joints)? Sand lightly with super fine steel wool or high grade sandpaper. Then use model paint.
---OR--- (Opaque colors work best) Deocart Americana Paints thinned with Pledge Floor Gloss (formerly Future Floor Wax). Americana seems to be the best craft paint with highest pigment load, while the floor gloss is basically nice smelling self levelling liquid acrylic binder. If you mix and let the two set for a second it gels up very nicely. There is alot of marble dust in the paint (and it is slightly unbound), so the extra binder creates a tough skin when dried. Did I mention it is self levelling? Matte paint + glossy thinner/binder dry to a satin finish that looks a lot like factory plastic/paint. If it is too shiny, you can do a top coat of just matte paint thinned with water (maybe a little Pledge or not). This is not as tough, but it is ok and leverages the strength of the lower levels of paint. Thin layers are the key! Two-three thin layers make a very strong skin, much more than one thick layer. Here is the opacity chart: https://decoart.com/resources/Americ...city_Chart.pdf Last edited by Adventure Fun; 10-13-2021 at 02:29 AM.. |

The above also adheres really well to Testors Model Masters Acryl (if you use that as a primer). I think Americana + Pledge is is better than Vallejo, but not as good as Acryl and Tamiya (in regards to adhesion). However, Acryl is on the way out, and Tamiya is not easy for some to get (and it is fumy).
I have never used Citadel, but I expect it is somewhere around Vallejo in adhesion. |

Gentlemen, great advice on here. I suffer majorly with paint coming off none moving parts on my figures but I use Vallejo because...well I don't really know to be honest but I've got too much paint to change now!!! haha I also use cheap Humbrol gloss to try and protect the paint, I don't own an airbrush so it all goes on by hand, it's ok but I'm always open to hear if you guys have better options??
Now, glue!!! I'm sick of trying to get stringy superglue into small spaces and leaving a mess. I tried this Revell stuff but it does nothing for Joe plastic. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332693607...4AAOSwGNxbK3rX What about this stuff? Deluxe Materials Plastic Magic liquid solvent glue https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324173946...53.m1438.l2649 I need something thin and runny and none staining which this stuff is but I don't know if it will work with Joe plastic. I'm keen to hear what you guys use?? Cheers
