Yes, it's like gunk when dry and provides friction. I would avoid glue because all it takes is seconds for it to dry and bond instantly if you're not careful.

What type of washer is inside a modern Joe's legs?
If I wanted to be ready to replace it if it's gone bad, what would I need to buy?

They’re pretty specific-I only know them to be in Joes. You can borrow a donor from another set of legs.

I've never seen anything like that at Home Depot. I'm guessing these are pretty toy/Joe specific.

I've done this before, but it's been a while (probably two years) so I wanted to make sure I remembered it correctly.
I just acquired a modern era figure (Snake Eyes v54) that has loose legs. If I remember right, you have to unscrew both legs at the thigh, and then carefully pull the legs apart to remove them. Then you put something like superglue (Future floor wax used to work, but I think it's become more diluted in recent years) on the little bar that is the waist joint. You carefully pop the legs back together and then put the little screws back in and then slowly work the legs to make sure the glue doesn't set in place to keep them from moving at all. Is that about right? Jason |

If you are a customizer and use a hair dryer to heat up any parts on a modern Joe figure, I have found that the metal T-bar gets warm even from residual heat, and stays warm which (A) causes the rubber washer/grommet-thing to thin out or (B) warps the thigh where the metal piece connects.
So, now I am careful about using a blow dryer to remove hands, elbows, or feet and make sure that I don't heat up the metal T-bar. Jason |

For the folks that use a heat gun, what temperature do you set it at for simple heat n pop part removal?
