Hi all,
I have a 25th Anniversary Quick-Kick that was included with one of the MASS Device sets. Unfortunately, this figure has a left arm where his right arm should be. (He does have a right hand, however.) I'm not sure why my first instinct wasn't to take the thing back to the store for an exchange (which I have since done anytime I find mismatched limbs/extremities on a figure), but for some reason I shrugged my shoulders and just lived with it. But it's always bugged the hell out of me. So, my question to you guys is, what, if anything, could I do to try to "fix" the arm so that it more closely resembles a proper right arm? Please bear in mind that I am NOT an experienced customizer, so my skill set is limited, as are my available tools. With that in mind, I do have an X-acto knife, a file set, some superglue, and nail polish, so I could potentially pull something off with adequate instructions. I have a few theories about what I might be able to do with my current skill and tool set, but I don't want to do anything until I've gotten some feedback from people who are more knowledgeable about this sort of thing than me. If there's anyone experienced out there who might be able to fix the issue for me for a reasonable price, I'll entertain that thought. Or, if the stars align and someone out there reading this has a Quick-Kick with 2 RIGHT arms, then please holler, so we can work something out. Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice! I appreciate your time. |

Check eBay. You may find a cheap Quick Kick to replace him. Or perhaps one with two right arms.

One thing you can rotate the arm 180 degrees, then pull it down, so that shoulder is inside out. The other option is to remove the forearm and file down the nub that would the bottom of the tricep, so the forearm is free to rotate forward.

If only you asked sooner. I had a quick kick that I sold off as fodder.
The only thing I can think of is removing fore arm and then cutting the piece keeping the arm from bending forward. I did that with a few figures that couldn't bend his arm 90 degrees like blowtorch and hawk.

Here's some pics of my Blowtorch to show you what I mean.
I trimmed the elbow part on the upper arm so he can bend his arm 90 degrees. You can do that as a temporary fix until you are able to get a replacement Quick Kick.

Or you can selectively cut so it doesn't detract the look. For this Blowtorch, I cut just the inner part that I needed to make it bend 90 degrees.
For Hawk, I only trimmed on the inside, so the outer part on the elbow joint is very thin and can bend. So when it's straight it looks almost unmodified: But can actually bend 90 degrees: Hope these pics help you see how you can trim the piece off so the arm is at least useable.

I may be able to help. Let me double check my fodder. I may just have this QK torso with upper arms.
