I do remember him saying back around the time of my order that he needed more people to order items so he would have the money to produce mine. I was like what the hell man I paid for mine and he said that's not how this works. He used my money to pay for other people's stuff and had to wait for more orders to be able to process mine. I get that's how some businesses work with cash flow and payment terms and such, but for some heads and helmets that's crap.
That is UTTER crap on his part. :(

Hmmmm....now this makes me nervous about my order. I put in an order around early February when I first got to this forum. In the e-mail receipt he did include a part at the bottom saying that due to the pandemic, to allow 8-12 weeks.
I'll give it about two more weeks before I contact him to see what is up. I hope he responds and that the above was just an aberration. |

His business model is kamikaze.

I've asked him a bunch of times for updates - he always tells me "it should be in the mail next week" and it never comes. I ordered last summer. Still waiting. I will never use him again.

I'm in the same boat as everyone here. Placed two big orders in April of 2020 and he "hopes to get them out by the end of the month" for like 5 months running. He has great stuff, but I wish I'd seen a thread like this a year ago. He was the first caster I ever ordered from, and a few customs have been stalled for a year as I wait out the order. I've ordered and received stuff from pretty much everyone else (sometimes multiple times) and have completed like 30 customs since I placed my order last year.

I used him a few times in the past, but got fed up with the constant wait. By the time I got the stuff, I'd forgotten what I wanted it for or had gone down a different route with a particular figure. Being able to get accessories from Marauder made them a much better source.
He got a roasting a few years back on Joecustoms when he said that he needed new orders to pay for the plastic to fulfil his existing orders. It shouldn't be the way to run a business. One of his USPs is the fact he casts in some many different colours, but I also think it is the cause of his problems as he seems to wait until he has sufficient orders before producing casts in a particular colour. I have done 3 orders with Vortious, and went in knowing his "process" He does really good work, and is a nice guy, but the shipping delays and lack of updates was a problem each time. I had to do paypal cases at the 5.5 month point on the first two orders. He got them out fairly quickly after that with a lot of excuses. The third order was really small and I had heard he had caught up, so I let that one ride. I started following up at the six month mark, and received it around month 9. It had a couple problems, but he had replacements out within a month. so 10 months start to finish for a 25 dollar order. Like many others, I now send my business elsewhere, though I do like his product.

The Angel Forge having the same problem related to getting stuff out.
I went in thinking it would be a 2 month process seeing as I had a small order of in stock items... ...that was January 20, 2021. Shipping label was created in March, website says shipped, I asked about it and have gotten promises of shipping soon. So Next week I 'll file a complaint with Paypal. It's a real bummer that this happens in our hobby. |
