Here's a solution to fixing this problem.
1st Pic: Cobra Trooper on a lean. 2nd Pic: You will need a pair of jewelry pliers. These pliers are used on jewelry because they do not have the groves most pliers have to grip objects. This minimizes scratching when working on jewelry. Therefore when you use them on the figure it will not leave an imprint on the figure. 3rd Pic: Crimp the figure as shown in the pic. You will need to crimp the leg in different places more than once to achieve the desired length. This causes the plastic to stretch while maintaining the integrity of the plastic. After you crimp you will see a noticeable indention in the figure, but do not worry, the plastic will gradually reshape itself. Do not crimp over the joint area (refer to pic). 4th Pic: A Sober Cobra Trooper. Last edited by kjl2381; 12-05-2011 at 01:36 AM.. |

This is exactly what I did to my legs to become the 5' 9" hulk that I am today.
Seriously, though, this is great! Thank you for sharing! I'll be "fixing" some figures later.

Cool idea. I like that straight-as-an-arrow upright posture on the troopers in the bottom pic. Now, to check if I have those pliers...

I gotta say, I've been very impressed by the figures we've gotten in the last two years, but it's really sad that we need a tutorial (and special tools) to fix a brand new figure just so it can stand up straight.
Good quality control Hasbro. Did you reduce costs by getting rid of that departnment???? Thanks kjl2381, this is most useful!

Awesome info! Here's a silly question, I'm sure - I don't buy jewelry pliers all that often - is it a Wal-Mart item or does one go to a specific store? I can't imagine Kays Jeweler carries these. XD

Know how I know this? Because you posted a declassified flyer which was meant for fun as a NEWS ITEM. No one would ever tell you anything because the VERY FIRST THING you would do is post it here. Probably incorrectly. |

Just wanted to update something. Walmart does carry these pliers and they are $5.00.
