Vellejo
Reaper Army war paint Citadel All these brands have worked great for me. You should not have any problems painting unprimed figures as long as it's not a light color. White Yellow Orange Some reds Will require primer or they wont stick no matter what brand you use. This at least has been my experience. This right is the best answer all of the manufacturer's he mentioned are great along w/spaz sticks . And greed stuff worlds line of painta also the d&d paints are quality as well ..

Y’all better be priming regardless of light colors. That’s painting 101.
Acrylic paint is the choice for customs. Brands are mostly the same, less water for this one more for that. Too much water now you got a wash. Pro tip there for ya. Pay attention to how firm washed his custom bike. That’s correct use of wash. Harder master soaks his, which is incorrect. Takes away from most of the hard work. Base that shit with gloss or matte to tone down specifics areas. Get customizing !

you must know what type of plastic your dealing with, I usually use spirits the clear liquid at home Depot but I use it very lightly in a plastic cup with q-tips or sponge...

Good day fellow tankers.
I have a question. I'm looking for a good brand of paint to touch up joes with. Since Pactra seems to be dwindling and becoming harder to find in the colors I need. I'm looking for a good substitute. I liked Pactra because when it dried, it didn't come off for nothing. It was flexible and extremely durable. Pactra was the next best paint compared to what is used in the factories of Hasbro. My question to you is in your experience which is the best paint in terms of durability? Which one is less likely to rub off from play or handling? For availability in my area I'm down to Tamiya and Model Masters.

I think this is probably a good place to ask... I bought a Fortnight boat in my quest to find a Zodiac like boat for my Cobra Eels to chill on. (Maybe with Copperhead driving. Not sure let. Link: https://www.amazon.com/Fortnite-Moto.../dp/B09H19R4KK )
I imagine it will be much simpler to convert to full on black with some other dark highlights but I was wondering if anyone has matched colors (or come close to it) with the old RAH Cobra Night Landing? (link: https://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/85/nightlanding/ ) Also are aftermarket stickers/decals a possibility after painting? Note: I did see the update saying Vellejo, Reaper, Army war paint or Citadel is the paints of choice now. |

For projects that are ABS-ish paint I use Rustoleum 2X. They have a great color range, it's cheap, goes on smooth and once the paint cures you'll need an act of God to remove it. If they don't have the the finish you want (ie: Matte vs Gloss) just hit the finished painted piece with an appropriate top coat and you're right as rain.
Don't use Rusto's top coat though. They aren't designed for smaller scales. They dump a TON in a short period. For top coat I HIGHLY recommend Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear. It's more expensive but almost impossible to mess up. I used Rusto Ultra Matte and Mr. Super Clear Matte and Gloss for this https://www.toyark.com/2023/06/24/mc...se-pics-503840
