Hello my friends. I hope this little "trick" wont be against anybody.
I mean - I really appreciate John Marauder and other guys who do awsome weapons for us. But if you don't mind - I want to share this FAST and DIRTY copy technic with you. Please remember - its FAST and DIRTY =) The legend says - this technic was used by the russian robbers to copy keys =P Its against the usual silicone, resin, pressure pot technics - so I hope you'll like it. Today we'll try to copy this little baby: DSCN2898 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr First of all I show you what we exactly need for this "magic": Epoxy: DSCN2899 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr This is MOMENT - a 2 component fast-draw epoxy-"glue". Ist draw really fast...the box seas it dry in 5 minutes -in reality nearly 30 sec.-1 min. So we should work really fast when we use it. Childrens plastiline: DSCN2900 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Warm it up - and it'll be soft like a gum))) Put it in the fridge and it'll be harder than a stone. This ill be our soure for the forms. Yes the forms will be used only once, but the plastiline from the mold you can always re-use. So keep it in mind =) |

Step 1:
Take apart our RB's M2 machnigun and take nearly 2-3 amount plastiline of every part: DSCN2901 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Play with the plastiline to make soft: DSCN2902 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Take the plastiline apart in 2 piece and form little boxes: DSCN2904 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr And push every part of the M2 nearly to half point inside the plastiline box, and of course do some holes in the "box" so when you'll push the second "box" above it will help to stick the 2 forms together and prevent of sliding the froms. DSCN2906 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr When you are done - this is what you'll get: DSCN2907 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr This is going to the fridge as is for about 30-40 minutes: DSCN2908 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr |

Step 2:
Take the 2nd parts of plastiline and pushit over the hardened forms: DSCN2911 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Push it harder!!! =) DSCN2912 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr This is what you'll get in the end: DSCN2915 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Take out your parts and leave the plastiline like this and put all the forms back inside the fridge for another 30-40 minutes DSCN2917 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr |

Step 3:
Cut the back of the epoxy like that, so you can always check how many epoxy you have: DSCN2918 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Take out your form from the fridge and do some air-tonnels. So all the air between te 2 forms will leave through them: DSCN2919 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr Put together the epoxy - and remember to use GLOVES!!! So push the epoxy inside 1 of the form...push nearly 2 amount of the form...when you're ready - push the 2nd form above it (do is FAST...this epoxy dries really fast)...push the forms together and leave them like that: DSCN2922 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr DSCN2923 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr DSCN2924 by HUNMARINE, on Flickr They will harden fast. Belive me)) You can always check it by the bubbles from the air-tonnels. It'll be harden in 10-15 minutes. But I usually leave the forms for a couple of hours. (3-4) |
