So here's a few things I did that I think improve the recent Ultimate V2 Snake Eyes...
I really love the Marvel comic first and foremost, so I wanted him to look closer to the comic. He needs a backpack. I don't remember who suggested it, (sorry) but the Resolute Cobra Trooper's backpack is very similar to the original V2 backpack. Thanks to Hisstanker Godzilla...I got one! I cut out a very small wedge from the pocket of the pack to stick the sword in. The sword and head are from the Hall of Heroes Snake Eyes. I also put a somewhat thicker pistol from the Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes in the holster so it would stay in there better. I'm not THRILLED with the head, but it'll do until something better comes along, and I think it looks closer to the comic book look than the movie head. Sorry the pics are lousy...camera phone. I tried to brighten them too. So these are really small changes/additions but I think they really help! |

I added the same backpack too, wanting him to get as close to the comic version as I could. I also got a sword from Maurauders that's more accurate to the vintage SEv2.

I actually modded a vintage backpack for mine but I like the one you used.

I've tried with my phone camera and my ancient digital camera, but I can't for the life of me get a pic that isn't blurry and crappy!
Anyway, thanks to tanker dbritt for hooking for up with the highly-sought after POC Visor head (the best Snake Eyes head ever) I am now totally satisfied with my ULTIMATE Ultimate Snake Eyes. Body is the Retaliation Ultimate figure. Keep the uzi and silencer. Switch out the pistol for the slightly thicker one that comes with Paris Pursuit SE cause it stays in the holster better. Keep the bandolier. Get the belt and sword from the Hall of Heroes SE. The belt is juuuuust a little off color-wise, but not really that bad to the naked eye, and it fits so much better, it's worth it. Also, the sword is fully painted with silver and red on the Arashikage symbol. Some prefer the Marauder Scimitar...up to you I guess. Get the backpack from the Resolute Cobra Trooper. Really nice match to the 85 backpack, and with a little slit cut in the pocket, the sword can wedge in there. Last and most importantly, slap some Tamiya German Grey acrylic on the POC visor and there you go. I think it looks awesome, but if it's too dark, maybe go a shade lighter. If you can't get that head, I still think the HoH head is the second closest, but again, the grey of the visor is juuuust a bit off. If I can ever manage to take a detailed non-blurry pic, I'll post it here. But I can FINALLY say this is how he's supposed to look. Like the Mike Zeck style we all know and love from our childhood that some guy re-drew on deviant art. Last edited by Otomo; 03-23-2014 at 04:54 AM.. |
