10 or 12 inch pliers are about right. Channellock brand model #s would be 430 or 440

Thanks for the sock idea. Ive been using that method, and will try the sock since I have a PP Copperhead Torso half that I can't find in my garage. Pieces went flying and I haven't found it. I use Sears Craftsman Robo-Grips.

Thank you so so much for posting this. I had an ollllld table top vice in the shed, and I've been going custom crazy all weekend using this method. It's almost as easy and quick as removing the screw from an ARAH figure imo.
I've wasted a lot of figures and blood trying to split them with xacto knives, screwdrivers, etc. |

movie storm shadow's arms are so soft they won't provide enough pressure. smashed the arms flat, but within an hour they were back to normal. (i'll have some more parts pics for you in a day or so MTN) other than those, i use this method all the time. works like a charm. i actually just use a rolled up paper towel in leu of a sock. |

Exactly the way I do it!. Though I have a tiny 4" vice that needs upgraded - I need something with a bit more leverage.
Pilot Destro had stuggles popping this way - but everything else has been easy! BTW - love the custom you referenced. Very cool indeed. |
