Okay, today makes the first time I've ever split torsos! I used the ol' vice and sock method for several figures, and it worked like a charm each and every time. I'm pretty psyched.
Anyway, when it comes time to re-seal the torsos, what glue is the best to do so with? Krazy Glue, or something stronger? Also, what's the best way to apply the glue so it doesn't smoosh out the sides when you push the two halves of the torso together? and if it DOES smoosh out, what's the best way to quickly clean it up? Thanks!

Super glue and one of those easy grip clamps. The vise warps the torsos a bit sometimes. You can use a toothpick or something to apply the glue so as not to get it all over the place.

Use gel superglue to apply it where you want it.

For me, I only use 1 glue for all my kitbashing - shoo-goo.
I have fixed shoes with it and the repairs lasted at least a year on work shoes, imagine what it does for your kitbashing needs For torsos, after applying glue, I wrap multi elastic bands diagonally (over right shoulder/under left shoulder - etc) around the torso and leave it for 24 hours. Small amounts of residue out the side can be left to dry, then plucked away or cut with a sharp razor.

I like the brush on super glue, just on the inside attachment points. I then just squeeze the torso finger tight, hold it for about 30 seconds and then let it sit overnight. It's worked for me so far. As far as the sock and channel locks method warping torsos, that is a problem with only one figure so far. Wave 2 Flint....grumble....

Thanks for the tips, guys! I'll keep an eye out for Locktite or Shoo-Goo this weekend. Any other super glue brand suggestions would be awesome as well.

I typically split torsos with just an x-acto knife...too many times have I ruined torsos and shoulder joints with pliers. I glue them back together with small dabs of super glue on the inner posts.

I used Locktite gel for the first time today on your say-so, and it worked like a charm. I held the pieces of the torso together for about a minute and BAM. Done. The applicator is rad as well...it was very easy to precisely apply the gel in the exact amounts that I needed. Thanks for the suggestion!
