I did this too, used about 3 feet of rope from the Ninja spring loaded hook thingy... but 3 feet is a bit too much for the spool. 2 feet is probably better. Cut to size and use a match or lighter to burn the edges to keep the rope from unraveling.
Just pay attention during disassembly so it all goes back together right. Also don't forget to thread the rope through the side where the landing gear goes, it keeps the rope on the spool.

Any tips on how to disconnect the tail on the Eaglehawk? Is it meant to come apart at all?

I don't think the tail comes off. The EH is basically 2 halves and an interior. The tail is part of these 2 halves. I'll look tonight.

The tail is meant to be a "one time" assembly, but it can be removed. Find the split between the tail section and the main body, then remove the screws closet to that split on the body side. Gently pull the two halves of the body apart around the tail split (they won't separate much with only the two screws removed), and the tail should be able to easily slide out.

The reason I’m asking is because I start looking at the assembly instructions and the size of the box it doesn’t look like it’s a separate piece. I remember snapping it in but I’m afraid to disassemble it as I may break it. I thought that there’s a trick or something to ease the tension in order to easily disconnect it.

I double checked the tail connection and took a quick pic...
The circled spots in the image are the screws you need to remove in order to take off the tail section. Then gently pull the body halves apart in that area, and the tail should be able to slide out.

Oh yeah. And you can take out the tail screws and pull that piece apart to paint. I forgot about that. It was years ago when I painted some of these.

You really know your stuff thank you so much!! I just managed to take it apart and yes by removing those two screws the whole operation was a piece of cake. Cheers bro!
