Like this is $4 https://www.target.com/p/1-5bu-laund...25#lnk=sametab and is possibly thicker platic than the Timmee fort. Grab some plastic placemat's from dollar tree to make walls, some hot glue, paint, and final faction gun packs and you could make a better fort for $10. Doubles as a storage case as you can Flip it over and throw all the kids toys in it when done playing for the day. Last edited by sisco; 03-05-2024 at 12:31 AM.. |

The Walmart exclusive Kid Connection Space Exploration Play Set is fantastic for 3.75 and ME Joes. Customizers are turning them into Cobra Missile launch bases and doing amazing stuff with it. The rocket platform fits a Rolling Thunder missile on it perfectly.
Link to the toy: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kid-Conne...ces/2481891066 Link to a custom Cobra missile base made by Its Chad!: Is that why that thing is sold out everywhere I go? Someone told me to get it and I couldn't find it at any Walmart anywhere.

Who doesn't have rolling thunder missiles and terrordrome parts lying around to customize cheap playsets with? LOL.
This is interesting. Says the figurines are 4". So... https://www.ecrater.com/p/42160422/l...BoCbUsQAvD_BwE |

https://www.ecrater.com/p/42160422/l...BoCbUsQAvD_BwE https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094C8PKRG Here is an assembly video for a smaller version set from the same manufacturer: https://www.amazon.com/vdp/084df5cad...uct=B094CKG1LQ I ordered a couple of damaged box sets of this smaller building to try it out. Mixed reviews on Amazon for both the two-story and one-story buildings. It's entirely modular construction for the walls and floors. Just the roof is a static design. The whole product line looks dark and dirty, but it's perfect for Drednoks or might work out well enough for old west scenes. There are lots of complaints about poor fit and easily falling apart but I'm going to try it out. Hopefully the scale works.

That looks interesting. It used to be available on Amazon:

We ordered the biggest two story set(16"x16"x14") they had at the time back in the summer of '22 for the Dreadnoks. I had to look back through our Amazon orders to find the exact set and it looks like it's no longer available as well. Anyway, it scales well for 4" and was pretty much like a big snap together model kit with most all the building parts on sprues. They included a little plastic mallet to help with the friction fit parts, but I opted to just use a real hammer lightly as the plastic mallet doesn't have much weight to it and you end up making a whole lot of racket wailing away on the plastic posts. I've found it to stay together fairly well if hammered together properly, which I believe is the main problem with some leaving bad reviews. We are able to pick up the whole thing and move it around without anything becoming loose. We have taken it apart a few times to paint and modify some pieces, but sometimes needed a plastic auto trim tool to help with removing the post caps from the floor. It's possible that just gluing the four pieces together that make up the posts might eliminate that issue altogether if it ever becomes too much. The animals and figures included are pretty terrible, but there were some nice smaller diorama pieces that would fit in well with an old west theme. All in all, it was a pretty cool set for the price back then and so far it has held up really well. It's been a real blast to customize. We ended up buying another smaller set later to combine with it along with scratch building more structures out of wood for it. We have some extra building parts leftover from the second kit, so if you need anything extra for yours, just let me know.

I think they look fine with ME figures, but I grabbed a doorway section and measured it anyway. The double doorway opening measures 4" tall and nearly 2 7/8" wide. There is a slight threshold at the bottom of the doorway sections, so the actual height from the floor to the top of the opening makes it more like a 4 3/16" tall entryway. Big guys might have to duck a bit to go in, but I look at it as it's an old, rustic built structure that didn't adhere to any building standards. It's possible to gain another 1/16" in that opening height by filing down the header a bit as the doors are a bit longer than the openings and should still cover it fine. You could even go further up with the opening if you wanted to mod or make new doors. Anyway, hope that helps. As for an update on the Joe base, I'll see what pics I have on the camera outside and try to make a post here soon.

FEXT Hoby got some attention this week with the BBTS Weekend Sale including their jail sale. THey also have a bunch of other playsets at other scales and one of their cool ones that could work for Classified is this 1/12 Danger Room playset:
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...ils/255434?o=4 With their system being "lego like" you could easily rebuild this into a base or hanger or garage for your Classified or 3 3/4 guys.

Well, my "Lucky Doug" order arrived this week and I took some time to work with it this evening. First thoughts: it's cheaply made. There is no getting around that. Everything is thin plastic. People who reported some items not fitting together properly are correct. Expect to use a file, razor knife, and maybe a drill bit to get things to work here and there. It's mostly going together, but when something won't go together it REALLY won't go together. But, fortunately, when things do go together they stay together pretty well, too. In both cases, I am in constant fear of breaking something when I try to assemble or disassemble anything.
Like Cap said, the scale is a little small for modern-era Joes, but still usable. For vintage Joes it would be just about perfect. See below for a few photos. The barrels and chest are not from this set but the table, bench, chairs, lamps, etc. are all from the Lucky Doug set. Very serviceable as a diorama structure... Door height is a little low, but the shutters, doors, and wall details are all pretty nice... The chairs are undersized, but you can make them work for certain uses... The figures, animals, bed, garden tools, and food that come in this set are all useless wastes of material. The farm cart at least works for some background scenery. If you plan to buy any of these sets, just expect to work with the actual building materials and pitch almost all of the rest. The building materials are completely modular, so if you buy multiple sets you can bash them together into multi-story buildings or whatever you want, as long as it is essentially a rectangular design. The roof design could use some improvement.
