I have bought probably 2 dozen or so bottles of model master acryl (testors). What I have found is that some colors (or maybe just some bottles) go on great and smooth and some could use a little windex to thin it. I got "amber" and it was mostly clear, couldn't ever color the item amber regardless of how many coats, maybe it was supposed to be clear though. I look at the little sticker on the shelf under the bottles to tell if they are flat or glossy.
I have gotten multiple bottles of some colors and it seems like one may go on smooth and the next a bit thinner. Model master acryl is definately the way to go though, I don't think there are very many choices when it comes to paint that will adhere to the type plastics joes are made from (and dry). The tamiya I got had a crazy strong oder, I don't know if it was any more dangerous to be breathing than the model master but it sure made me wonder. Seemed to be worse to deal with in terms of the fumes. It went on very smooth though.

ive actually had huge problems buying model masters because half of the time i cannot figure out if they are glossy or flat, the bottle doesnt say the shelf tag at my hobby lobby doesnt say. but otherwise they have been working nice for me.

I usually buy Model Master Acryls at Hobbytown. Their racks usually label if they're flat or gloss.

Tamiya woka wonders for me and easy to get. Ive heard vallejo are really nice too. Trick is to dilute a little with paint thinner and wait for paimt to dry before coats.
