Is it just me or am I correct to say that there seems to be a pattern going on here...

Online store that offer custom casts pops up, people start ordering, online store delivers goods and will do well for a time, suddenly orders either are not met and store becomes silent...

People waiting for orders start following up, online store owner either does not reply or replies you with a vague answer about a personal problem or status that you didn't ask about. Sometimes there are even other people vouching that online store owner was in a hospital or something...

I mean c'mon? What is going on with these guys? Don't you guys get the feeling that all of these so called online custom casts stores are being run by the same guy only disguising with different names and stuff?

Sorry, but it's just a small rant. hehehe!

I have noticed a pattern that every time I go to my mother in laws house for dinner and she serves spaghetti I end up on the toilet for the next 24 hours. I think there may be a connection.

I've only dealt with one online caster, with excellent results. I always take someone at his or her word until I have proof that I should doubt them. Bad luck and health probems happen to everyone. I'm just thankful that I've been relatively healthy over the years.

One thing to consider is that custom parts are in high demand, and that they easily get overworked if they are only 1 person or such doing the job. 1 person to answer 200 messages from people asking everything and nothing can be a lot of work in itself.

But I have noticed this trend as well. I do however think that it's probably more connected to more demand then supply and people get overworked faster and then suffer health problems. Just a theory of course.

I understand this part... but then, why don't they (sellers) control the orders if they cannot be met? There should be some level of control from the sellers part, I suppose. Like post how many was made for this month and how many are still available. How many customers can be accomodated and how many goods can be delivered. Something like that. Not just keep on getting orders. There should be some level of planning involved... Like building a queue or something...

I always wondered why more of these places don't simply use an "In-Stock" method of business. They make up a batch of a number of different pieces, list them as "In-Stock" or "Out-of-Stock" and start out small in terms of selection and amount on hand. As they sell out those pieces, make more and increase the number of selections. Perhaps rotate the different parts available so that you don't have a massive list of different ones. High selling ones could be produced in greater numbers somewhat regularly to help offset the cost of those items that may not sell as fast.

The whole model of throwing a bunch of different items up there and making to order seems to be death of so many of the online casting sites/stores as it obviously becomes too overwhelming to manage.

On a more pleasant note, I have never had anything less than an outstanding buying experience with RaginSpoon. His products are awesome and he seems to sell only items that he has in stock, none of this "pre-order" bullshit that seems to get a lot of these guys in trouble.
See, this is what I am talking about... At least this guy has the balls to say "I only have this...","I can only sell this..." which I think is honest business in my opinion. And it keeps him safe. Not that "I cannot check on your order right now because I am somewhere else doing my own shit..." BS or worse "I am sick up my A**, give me a break...".

I would like to order from this ragingspoon guy, but cannot seem to point my finger on what to get from him yet. I checked his store just now and saw the Ret Armor/Webgear and Ret Hands. Seems interesting... I'm waiting for a really interesting set of heads...

Exactly what I'm trying to say... They should have thought of it when they were setting up. And they should be more realistic in terms of what they want to produce, need to produce and their goals...

I am just getting into customizing and wanted to order some items from an online store. They no longer carried the item because the person didn't renew the contract. So, I believe that this could happen to some people that place orders. The store the order was placed with might take longer to fill an order due to waiting on the actual customizer to get the product to them. I'm not saying this happens all of the time or gives companies any excuse for not contacting a buyer when issues arise it's just a possible reason.
