Hello,
I just got a Marvel Universe Cable and non of his straps and accessories are removable. It's primarily his chest harness/Gunbelt that do not come off. I'm thinking maybe if I boil some water, I can pull the gunbelt down past his legs, but the chest harness may have to be cut off. Also, the WWII Captain America figure (First Avenger) has the same issue, his chest straps need to be cut off. Any tips on how to reattach them once they are cut off? Maybe a way to brace them together with glue or something? Any help would be awesome!

I'd like to know also because I've almost bought some of these figures but realized that their gear wasn't removable.

Cut the straps in an area that is not curved. If there is some pouch or holster on a straight area, cut at the edge of that.
To reattach, place the harness/belt on fig how you want it. Cut a piece of vinyl notebook cover the width or a hair smaller than the strap. Superglue one end of the vinyl to the bottom of one end of the strap and let it dry. I usually do this before I put it on the fig just in case the glue runs. Then glue the other end in place. Like I said before this works best if done on a straight/level run of strap. I do this a lot with belts, harnesses, and vests. Hope this helps and makes sense. The harness can be removed from Cable. You need to find the strap joint where the harness is secured (pegs into the back of the harness). Then you can work the glue loose and the harnes will then remove. This works for most MU harness (I know I also did this with Cyclop's harness to remove the shoulder piece and keep the belt).
The harness(s) are similar to the Joe vests in that they attach with a peg(all be it a SMALL one) but they glue these pieces together to hold them in place. |

To remove the belt from waist, pop the legs off. Than slide the belt down and off.

To remove Cable's webgear, cant you just slide them off his shoulders than off his waist?
