http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_(vehicle)
Has anyone found some custom vehicles that would work for this purpose? They're generally smaller light trucks made by Toyota, Mazda or Mitsubishi, and there are a lot of 1:18 scale die-cast vehicles out there on ebay, but these are generally just too small to accomodate the newer slightly larger modern G.I. Joe figures. Bruder has an amazing Land Rover that I want to pick up, and some Playmobil stuff seems like it might be a close fit for Joe-scale, although some seem a bit too cartoon-ish. Anyone that can point me in an affordable direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Schleich's safari truck is begging to have an AA gun put on it. I'd really see about an old Tonka pick-up and going from there.
Technicals are pretty easy customs to do. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-TONKA-E...item27c56e8a15 Certain there's a Joe-branded Tonka pick up with a hole in the cab to get figures in it. Last edited by Konigstiger; 04-01-2012 at 06:18 PM.. |

That might be more in scale with the Joe's, since it's 1/16th. They have a red one too. Though it's more of a full size pickup than the ones you wanted. |

Bass Pro Shops has some decent stuff (although I don't like the tires), but these are more full-size trucks that aren't readily available in other parts of the world.

I'd also like to find an '83 Chevy truck or Blazer to make into a CUC-V for my Joes.

I've been burned on a few of these types of toys, that look like they'll be perfect, but they don't actually fit a joe (either the legspace is boxed in, or the doors don't open to the point that you can't get a figure in it).. If this fits joes, front page this joint, because I'm buying if they do!

No, I just saw the thread and did a search on Amazon. That looks like it would work to me though. Especially with that big cutout on the roof. It might be worth checking Toys R Us to see if they have any on the shelves. That might give you a better idea if it's worth it or not.

If you have a Rural King near you, many tend to have a lot of farm toys you may be able to use.
