I did some searching for a thread on molding and casting with green stuff and found nothing, so here's how i do it. This is gonna have allot of pictures, so please hold your questions till I'm through. hope this helps with your customs!!!
I'll let you know when I'm done... For this example I used ROC shipwreck to duplicate his beanie for use for an arctic duke, or low-light, or anyone else you can think of that might have a beanie in their wardrobe. haha! start with green stuff and make sure it's properly mixed together. next you need to rub some type of releasing agent on the piece that you're trying to duplicate, so the green stuff doesn't become bonded to your figure. I like to use baby oil. make sure that you apply a good amount of pressure when you press the item you want to duplicate in the green stuff and also be sure to do it slowly so all the detail comes through in the mold. |

after the green stuff is cured, its ready to cast. spread a releasing agent in the mold to prevent the green stuff from bonding to itself.
next take some more green stuff and press it deep into the mold, making sure you distribute it thinly and evenly and let it cure over night. when the casting has cured it should look something like this and should be able to be pulled out with little effort. |

Now that your casting is done, you can trim the extra off, leaving the finished casting. If you need to bore out more on the inside, I suggest using a dremel.
the newly cast peace should fit most heads, the earlier 25th heads do run kind of small, and probably won't fit here's another example. I made a visor for a snake eyes because i didn't like the original head that came with the figure. I used PP SE head and removed the visor and replaced it with a visor that was cast from a vintage snake eyes. This concludes my instructional post. Hope this helps with any future projects |

Cool, I can't wait to see the whole thing.
On another note, I'm almost peeing myself laughing thinking about a baby-oiled Shipwreck and that "Body Masage" PSA.

Nice! Excellent tutorial. You can find more green stuff goodness here. I use the same technique to copy insignias, medals, any detail really.
Also, skip the dremel and use the mold directly on the figure for a perfect fit. Cover the head in plumbers seal tape and then cast the part on the head. You won't have to trim as much or risk damaging the piece with the dremel. |

This is a cool fix for folks who can semi-sculpt, but don't have the right (expensive, ehh.... dangerous?) medium, and are either too lazy, scared or stupid to get the right stuff (like me, all of the above)!
I will have to try this out. |
