Has anyone used Rit Dye? If so, once the dye has dried, does it rub off on other parts of the figure, fabric, or skin?

Dye the plastic parts, then rinse with cold water until it runs clear. Don't let the dye "dry". The parts should just be wet with regular water when you set it aside to dry. The dye embeds itself in the plastic, so there is nothing to rub off or stain if you follow those last steps in the instructions.

Also remember that the hard plastic parts like a torso will take longer absorb the dye. I find it easier to do them first until you get the color you want then do the softer parts that tend to soak it up quicker. Be careful about letting parts sit on the bottom of the boiling-pot too long as they can warp. When I dye parts I constantly stir them. Good luck.

You might get yourself a metal strainer. I use one when I dye so the parts never touch the bottom of the pot. Because they are suspended, I just occasionally swish the strainer around, rather than constantly stirring them. Works like a charm. I would also avoid getting the water too hot. It doesn't have to be boiling to work. A little lower than Medium heat should be hot enough to simmer the parts.
