I paint it then after it dries I cover the joint with a THIN layer of superglue to kinda make a "shell" over the paint... also, if I'm making a custom I try my best to find base parts that are close as possible to the color I'm going to paint them to make paint wear less noticeable... For example, I used a comic pack Firefly instead of the single pack one or Beachhead for my Night Force Shockwave custom because he's already molded in a dark gray close to the one I used for the custom...

Everyone has their own different method. some work better than others and every figure is unique. Some guys dye their parts, others leave em.
I use Tamiya spray paint. A thin coat doesnt rub off. too thick and it does rub off. a few "perfectionists" sit there and sand it down so it doesnt even touch. |

Its actually a solid rod of plastic thats connected to both ends of the shoulder. I think its sonic welded. If you do want to pop off the joint, take an xacto, and cut into one end of the shoulder where the rod is connected. then put the piece in 30 sec of boiling(microwaved water). It should be soft as an eraser and you can pop out the pieces easily. heat it up again to put it back together.
Thats if you want to sand down joints |

I use a dremel and sand down the joints, then smooth it out with fine sand paper on the shoulders, elbow and ankle joints. for the knees, I just dremel them down since they go back into the lower legs.

yeah man cus paintin them ankles elbos an shoulders is like paintin a hinge check this out not sure if it will work on the ankles i havent gottin them off yet, but we're able to push the soft plastic over wit a exacto knife or break away, an i was thinkin of slidin sand paper in the gap an sand then i was like oh the other side of the sand paperwill scratch up the hinge part, (cus ya gotta have ya paper doubled , or folded so its sturdier an you got more control) so i was jus thinkin of slidin the paper in there wit like a pce of a match book behind it so it dont scratch the hinge part, dremmelin jus isnt in the budget right now or the time to figure out what to do wit it, i never used one an wouldnt know what to do wit it till i sat down an decided to destroy few figures an figure out what im doin.
