I've never heard of this before but stumbled onto it today while trying to finish the backpack for my Dialtone.
Turns out those flags that came with Duke seem to be the perfect size as far as backpack pegs go. Find an arah backpack and clip off the post. Most arah backpacks have a cavity inside the pack, but if their solid you will have to drill a hole. Fill the cavity with hot glue stick a flagpole in there and make sure it sets right. after your done, clip the flagpole, paint and call it a day!

I did this with my Dialtone custom a couple of years ago. Gotta repair a broken 25th Torpedo backpack, and I'm doing the same thing.

I normally cut the dry end off a 15 cent Bic Pen's ink tube.

Good find and a great idea.
When people first started using ARAH backpacks with 25th figures I saw all types of mods from using the pegs of other 25th backpacks to using an piece of the inktube from the inside of a pen. When I modded a ARAH Tele-Viper backpack for my 25th Tele-Viper I cut off the peg and inserted part of a Bic pen cap to use as the new peg. Now it doesn't look as nice as your method, but it did the trick without the need of glue. If I were to do it over again I would try your method or another one mentioned by other Tankers in the past.
