During my spare time Ive been working on some vac-forming blanks of an f-14 here is the front half minus the nose radome. Hope you guys like it and more will be forth coming as time permits.

no when you vac-form you are making a plastic replica of the wooden frame. That is the way many star wars fans make their stormtrooper gear. When he is done he will have a complete plastic f-14

If I understand correctly, what he is trying to do is create a wooden base that can be used as a Vacuum formed plastic mold. Basically heated sheets of plastic would be pulled over the blank using vacuum suction. The plastic would take the form of the mold and could be used in constructing a vehicle.

I chose to do it this way due to the immense carving it would have taken to do it in MDF. The end goal is to form the fuselage in 4 pieces and glue them together yielding a complete plane.
