I have a Few vintage figures that I plan to keep til the end of My time, but the paint jobs are rough and they show a lil' wear. So I wanted to start a Poll to see if it would be a "Sin' to touch up the paint or should I just let Time take its toll.

on one hand that played with vintage look is par for the course and adds a certain dimension
on the other they look all nice and clean displayed standing tall n lookn good, so at the end of the day its all about your visual preference i say let em take their licks and wear their badges of honor with pride |

It really depends for me, certain things like metallic silver can be touched up so well it looks factory. Other things...not so much. If it's just really minor stuff for your aesthetic that's cool, but I think it's a tad unethical to touch them up if it's for resale, cause most people want stuff in good (original) condition.

It seems to me that it would be hard to find matching paint, but then again, I don't know everything so I'm sure there is probably some paint out there that will work.
Personally, the vintage figs I have will stay as they are. It just shows that they are worn by the years and my youthful play. It's like displaying ancient artifacts. You might clean them up a little, but don't alter them.

In my opinion a touch up would be considered a restoration, not a custom, and is perfectly fine in my book. If it's ever sold I think that any restoration done should be clearly noted to the buyer.
This_I_Command! is right on with the metallic paint...also flat black is pretty easy. A very cool trick that I learned that works well for flat black to cover minor dings is to use a black sharpie, and then buff it out with a damp napking or paper towell...repeat as needed until blended.

if your planning on keeping them, paint away.... touch-ups never hurt anything
