if anyone is looking to replace rusty screws it is possible to use naval jelly to completely remove the rust and they are good as new.
just get all the rusty screws together, put them in a small container. fill it with enough naval jelly to submerge them. stir it up with a small brush. let them sit for a few hours. pour them into a wire mesh type strainer and rinse with water and stir with a small brush. beautiful rust free screws! |

Unfortunately, Naval Jelly does not help stripped and deeply pitted screws, but it is good for minor rust.

Type B is the flat tip and type A is the pointy tip. The part # from L.A. Fasteners in Chicago for the bype B screw is MSPH023201 they are $.40 each. The company does not keep inventory on hand and you might not be able to purchase with out an account but i do know you they are the correct size. I have an account though my work and was able to buy some. It took a week but was worth it. |

I've used cassete screws before, as well aso screws from Smalljoes. Whatever you do, don't re-use screws from Corps! figures, they fit, more or less, but are in fact too big and will rupture the socket part on the front chest half.

Im glad im not the one that figured this out the hard way! I have also found that some of the local large hardware stores often carry small screws. But im in there a lot and know nearly everyone by name so i can walk up and say hey (insert name here) i need 20 of these and they measure them up and walk over to a bin and put them in a little baggy. And im talking even tiny screws like that go in eyeglasses size so check some hardware stores.

I bought some from GI Heaven a few years back and they have been a good fit. They're not exact because they have the blunt tip, but they work great.
