You all may laugh at me, but I had been out of the Joe loop for quite awhile. I saw a few figures here and there, but the last figure I bought was around 1988 or 1989. So when I saw that a 25th anniversary line was being released, I became nostalgic. However, I resolved that I would not go crazy collecting (because I like both my wife and my house), so I decided to focus on 1 or 2 characters. As you can tell by my name, my favorite is Firefly. So, thanks to eBay, I was able to get every version of Firefly that exists except for those stupid looking versions 2 and 3. After I got them all, I realized that a couple of them were cool looking, but a purple Firefly??? What was that about??? I had been looking around the net and found that a lot of people were into customizing, and was able to get some tips. So I tried my hand at it.
My first customs are all basically repaints. The first 2 pix are of version 6. Pretty cool looking figure but the color scheme was wrong. It needed to look like Firefly. I got the idea for this off of a custom I saw on the net. I like it, and I don't think it was terrible for a first custom, which I did several months ago (Oct or Nov of '07). The next 2 pictures are of version 10. Again, a cool mold, but PURPLE??? So I tried this one, and I like it. Finally, I realized that the 25A Beachhead shared the same body as Firefly. So, I repainted it. This is a repaint only. The one I'm working on now will have new accessories and a couple of differences in the body. So, I'm hooked on customizing now, and have a few more possible Firefly's that I may do. Last edited by fireflyguy; 08-13-2008 at 03:19 PM.. |

Very cool, I agree with the Valor vs Venom Firefly. Good mold but not in purple, they should've gone with the classic colors like you did.

Cool..I would paint the red beret on his chest gear on top of his shoulder unless that was intentional.
