Yes, the "Origin" Iron Man armor from the Comic series.

This is a link to Bad Sociologist's original post for his first Deep Six, which is where I saw the original custom and got some of the recipe for the parts.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-deep-six.html EDIT : I went and looked up the exact details on the Iron Man figure used. It's from the Iron Man 2 movie figures, "Comic Series." The figure number is 22. Last edited by tmelton78; 01-09-2011 at 05:02 PM.. |

The one major change I made was shortening the torso of Deep Six. The first looked to elongated.

My picture taking skills are sub-par but here are some shots of the figures geared up and of the final two figures from the order.
Cobra Commander giving Copperhead an ear full for allowing Roadblock and Deep Six to escape on the WHALE. I had two major gripes with Copperhead. First I couldn't stand the situational posed hands and the arm bands in the elbow joint. Secondly he was extremely pale for someone who supposedly spends so much time in the swamps and in an open cockpit hovercraft. I replaced the lower arms with a set of Bench-Press lowers and asked Bad Sociologist to sculpt the arms bands above the bicep swivel. I also asked that he sculpt details onto the hands themselves to turn bare hands into gloved hands. Finally, with the lower arms being replaced I asked him to repaint the skin tone to match. Here's a close up shot of Copperhead. While the changes may seem minor I think it turned him into a more menacing incarnation then that we were given by Hasbro. During Copperhead's pursuit of the WHALE he managed to wound Roadblock in the fight. In this pic we see Wild Bill preparing to transport Doc to a undisclosed location to patch up Roadblock. Doc was a mesh of various customs from various sources. The original modifications I had asked for was essentially to convert the Viper chest and upper arms (which were actually taken from the Scrap-Iron sold with the Rise of Cobra Heet Seek Missile System) into Doc's as DavAnthony had done with his. Once Bad Sociologist received the parts he sculpted the medic crosses and undershirt to the figure and then we began discussing the head. I didn't think much of it at first but he felt it wasn't a very good representation. After a few ideas bounced back and forth we settled on this head sculpt from SDS. The lower arms, legs and accessories are from the mail-away 25th edition Doc. Wild Bill is an interesting story. I wanted to replace the small head with one that was more accurate in size but was having issues finding a head. I was also trying to think of ideas for Recondo and both were frustrating me to no end. I had tossed the seven pack Recondo head into a bag of parts and was rummaging through the bag when I saw the head from the top. It had that 1800's kind of hair style look to it so I rolled the dice and sent it to Bad Sociologist hoping that some sculpted glasses and a sculpted mustache may work out. I knew it'd turn out nice but never expected it to be so perfect. Dave can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this head has been casted and is now available from the guys over at SDS. Other then the head, Bad Sociologist also replaced Bill's holsters with a pair I purchased from Hunter Artworks. Here's a close up of Bill without his hat. Once Deep Six arrives this week I'll post pictures of him and Roadblock with the WHALE. Thank you all for viewing. |

Yeah the Wild Bill head is up on Slayer, I wanted to keep it for a future Commissioner Gordon figure.
