Thanks for all of the positive feedback. Pulling this figure off was certainly a challenge. The russian hat was sanded/resculpted into a glenn garry hat. The collar and shoulderboards were modified to fit the ROC Neo-viper torso. The shoulderposts for the arms had to be modified to work with the torso properly. The upper legs were completly redone to fit the t-bar and lower legs were completly rebuilt from Beserker Wolverine, Artic Snake-Eyes and Roadblock v1. Last but not least was the kilt. All of the pleats in the back are real so keeping it from getting bulky was a challenge. In my opinion doing it without pleats just wasn't an option. The kilt really needed to be perfect for the figure to work. Overall I'm really happy with the results.

Typically, I'm not a fan of soft goods on figures as the scale generally makes it look like burlap, and I don't get the obsession with the gold Destro and all his IGs...
But that is a superb figure. I'm still catching up on the ARAH comics thanks to the TPBs, so I don't know if this is from the comics or your imagination, but the execution is stellar and the design is fantastic. Great use of those Wolverine legs, I'm planning to do something similar for a jungle version of Kwinn. Glad to see it looks so great! The kilt looks great, and really fits in well with that scale. Unless it was molded with proper texture and painted with a REALLY great paint mask, I don't think Hasbro could pull it off as well without using cloth, and I seriously doubt they'd go to all the trouble of the pleating. Fantastic job. |
