Hey Tankers!
I'm in the middle of reloading the original 13 (+ Shooter, possibly). That is it's own WiP thread. But I recently put my stamp of approval on a Short Fuze kitbash. The only thing I retained from the UBP version of SF is his mortar wep. His head is atrocious, like a Bizaarro Nazi mad Scientist type looking head. The body and gear was bland too. I went with the PoC Duke for the base, and nothing else from that fig to avoid him looking to 'Dukey'. I like the simple accessories placed upon him, and he fits the team real well as a result. I've always loved this character, mainly for the reason he earned his nickname. And rather than portray him as maniacal, I wanted to have him look updated and ready to rock with the other members of his team. I feature Zap, because I twisted up a braid, painted it, and stuck it on the ball joint to give him a new look. I love this figure as boring as it looks, it may the most articulate for his weapon than any fig I've put my hands on. Enjoy!

Where's his glasses? Why does Zap have a braid? How come he looks like Muskrat? Where'd you get the mortar? Why'd you use Beachead's head on him? Why am I asking all these questions?

Lasik surgery.
RoC Baroness' hair on his head looks silly. I say,Why does Muskrat look like him? No Swamp boogie board here though. Target UBP Fig. I'm not using 2008 as my reference for Beachhead with that head. It's better used here than in my fodder box. Plus, the RoC Neo Viper head wasn't pulling off the look I was going for. Because . . . Knowing is half the Battle. Here is the WiP thread I mentioned earlier to get a sense of how this look is a part of the vision I have for the 0-13. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...inal-13-a.html

I dig the parts combo here, and I really like the braid on Zap, but Short Fuse reads as Muskrat, to me. The muddy pants, floppy hat, and machete are probably the culprits. It does look good, though. That extra Beachhead head works nicely on that body.

I love it...makes him look less like a wuss and more like a guy that can do some damage. Which is the way he should LOOK!

I'm not so worried that a custom resembles more of one character than another. Granted I DO see Muskrat as well, but I didn't exactly put a RoC Duke head on a 25th Bazooka body, and call it "PoC Footloose" Could I have stood this one on a Muskrat stand, and been more accurate with my custom? Sure. But for me, it's what the next poster said here: Quote:
There is a 'tribute' to the previous renderings of Short Fuze here. Well, his mortar. But the belt and shoulder strap i thought gave it the identify it needed to be a SF custom (plus the Mortar). Thanks to all again for the comments, and like I said, check out the Original 13 in the WiP forum, for future additions to this custom. As well as the others already done.
