I've said it before and I will now say it again, for some reason I love the Range Viper. I didn't when I was a kid. He was after my time. If I had ever seen the DiC cartoon with him I prob wouldn't have enjoyed it. Since the DoCI figures though he's been one of my hands down favs of the ME line. When GI Joe: Cobra from IDW featured the SkullBuster story I was thrilled. Though I did think it was going to be his origin and not this poor bastards who was just looking for a way out of Cobra in the end. Yes, I know nowhere is it said that these guys are Range Vipers but it's pretty obvious. With that said I give you my rendition of the IDW Range Viper!
I did take some liberties for what their uniform looks like under the vest. Fully geared up. He'll get the Scoop. Parts Used Head: Range Viper and helmet Torso: RoC TRU Firefly Arms: RoC Desert Duke Upper Legs: City Strike SE with knees Lower Legs: Pit Commando Vest: Outback Rifle: PoC Duke All paints are Testors Model Masters Acrylics Custom Dark Blue based in Israeli Camo Blue Custom Light Blue (dry brush) based in Intermediate Blue Aircraft Interior Black Gloss Black wash on sweater Custom mix dark grey Desert Sand Earth Red

For those who don't read IDW GI Joe: Cobra here's a reference image.
For those who do, to bad that gypsy Crystal Ball spotted him with Leonard.

Wow. I love the IDW series and this figure is pure win. Very well done. There are so many great versions of characters being done in these books. Thanks for posting this.

Damn this looks good. I love the way you didn't paint the swivels or elbows. It's a really cool effect.
I need to do this, for sure. I love it.
