Greetings all,
Long time reader, first time custom poster. I thought i'd finally start posting some work and I'll explain a bit about it too. Cyber Metal has been a project in the works (and still is) for about 2 years. It's gonna be a Stop Motion Animation film set in a cyber-punk/scifi fantasy dystopic future. It's been super fun so far and I'm sure most customizers on this site know the joy of creating and process. I'm hoping me and my group of friends can see things through to the end, but in the mean time I thought I'd share at least some of the completed work, the figures! This here is a Cyborg Sentry Unit that is implimented by the Infinite Prosperity Initiative, which in our story, is basically the all powerful corporation/government. These units are sent out to keep the "peace" against revolutionary and gang opposition. Armed with a low caliber mini-gun and a high explosive grenade launcher for those high-threat situations. Not much of a "character", persay, but rather, just simply one of the many faces that'll eventually populate the film. Hope you enjoy. And finally a non "edited" version, so the figure/paint can be shown a bit more. |

Very cool. Like a cross between a star wars drone and a iron man drone.

To me, it looks like something from an anime series. Very good work! If this was being marketed, I'd buy several!.

Thanks all. Glad it's well received. Thought I'd start out with a fun custom. A lot of small, tricky mods involved with this one but was a good learning experience.
Was contemplating putting in a real LED light for his eye parts, but I'm afraid i'm just not at that stage quite yet heh. Might still play around with adding some waterslide decals for some text, as well as getting a glossier finish on the 'Eye' as well. Have some cool plans to show off whats inside of him, and what makes him a "cyborg". |

You could always make the eye glow in the animation with cheap cgi, or for an even cheaper effect, shine a pen laser on the spot (might require a clamp to hold it) for each frame. |
