Nice! One thing I loved about the old school Joe boat vehicles.. They float! Exception being that lame one man sub!

Looks good, just wish I had a pool - I used to love making GI Joe boats and subs when I was a kid and would happily make more now!
Well the sub (Barracuda?) was supposed to come back to the surface due to the CO2 bubbles from the baking powder, but whenever I tried it the water was too cold and/or deep, so I'd eventually give up and have to retrieve it manually (rather than wait a very long time for it to come back of its own accord). |

I second that I wish I had a pool! I like it much better without that giant cannon.
I have a few questions if you don't mind? It looks great, but I wonder what exactly you did to it besides make it seaworthy? As for that, did you do anything to make it float evenly, or it just turned out that way?

Thanks guys. I am glad everyone is enjoying the ship and if I didn't have the pool I would have never got this ship. I wanted something for me and my 7 yr old to play with insted of using floats with Joes on them. Thanks Exciter, I got that chest at Ross with a Bootstrap figure from POTC for $3, it was a great find! Now to answer a few questions. Octane, I added the sewing hooks for gun/gaff holders. Real rope on the side tackle thing and the dock bumpers. Covered the chair in pleather and painted the interior so the instruments would stand out. Removed the front hatch with low gun that would fire into the railing. I will attach a pic of the original at the bottom. Finaly everything was repainted and I added a few Joe decals.
It stays centered best when the scuba cycle is mounted on the side. When it is off it teeters back and forth based on waves in the pool and you picition stuff on the ship. The less stuff on it the better it does. Someone mentioned that the gun was a bit too big, I agree and fought over trying other things but ended up not coming up with anything better. Then as I look at Joe vehicles I thought the guns are many times big and outlandish and decided to go with what she came with. Nighthawk, this is Captain Jim Naughton as seen in the WIP pics.
