Hey everyone. I posted pictures of two of my huge display sets about a year ago.....this time, I decided to make a smaller one to see how it will do on ebay. This one is still large, but small enough to where I can ship it at an affordable price. Here is the link to my ebay auction. There are several pictures there. Please let me know what you think....I want honest feedback from you guys, even if you are not a fan of the item....I want to only improve, so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Figures not included? Sorry, no interest in this what so ever. 29.99? What am I getting for that? A picture, some hobby store moss and a fish tank plant/tree? I pass.

It's actually a cool little set up. The background picture looks a tad faded but maybe it's the picture. One problem with trying to sell dioramas is that most people will just make them. I have not seen many, if any sell. I've even seen a great background done by someone on here that was the AOCI and DOCI set backgrounds put together and it didn't go.
It is a nice little set up for display but selling it may be tough. It would be cool for some of the new POC figures easily. I could see a Jungle Viper in that big tree waiting. |

My price is based on the time put in. The trees you see cannot be purchased. I cut/tore the actual wood from natural trees, but then purchased the fake leaves/plants/moss, and then attached each piece one at a time. Even so with the smaller tree. Its quite time consuming....try it for yourself and you will see.

Pretty cool, would love to see a downed tree or old log to provide some cover.
A Jungle Viper set up in a tree would really make it pop !

I'm not knocking your time or investment at all. But I'm also not paying 29.99 for it either. It looked like something I can and have done. Maybe I'm just over sensitive. Thirty bucks is a lot these days. I hope you do well with them though. I was just offering my honest criticism which you asked for.

Having built things like this, it's easy to see that even at $30 it is not a good return on your time and materials invested. So it seems like a very good buy price. Unfortunately, $30 is still a lot of money and there is shipping to pay on top of that.
Most people with an interest in that sort of diorama will look at it and decide they can build one for themselves, it only takes a little creativity and some time and the satisfaction of building something like that for yourself is well worth the effort. Unfortunately I don't see a market for it, so you probably shouldn't mass produce them, but if it sells, perhaps it's worth your time to build and sell them one at a time if it's something you enjoy doing. It certainly looks good, though. - Ian |
