Of the last 15-20 "major" figures that were still missing from my ideal 25th collection were two major arctic players: Frostbite and Iceberg. While I had made a Frostbite already, I wasn't happy with it. So my second attempt at Frostbite (coming soon) came about after seeing the fantastic Slayer Design Studios' Frostbite head, and I knew where my Iceberg would get his start. Eduardimus Prime cast me the Frostbite head so I could Dremel it down for just the hat, which is exactly what I did.
Although I didn't manage to keep Iceberg as paint-free as I originally wanted, he still ended up without any paint on the torso, upper legs, knees, or elbow joints, which are usually deal-breakers for me due to paint rub. And I was curious about what head to use, until I ran across a Star Wars Cloud City Wing Guard pilot at Target on clearance for $.88, and he looked exactly like Iceberg, with no painting required! A sneak peek at my 2nd Frostbite: My 3 main ARAH Arctic Troopers together at last: Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 09-14-2010 at 03:54 AM.. |
