Great Ninja force!
If you want some cool designed Americanized Japanese action characters I would recommend Rai (Valiant comics) and Kabuki (David Mack/Icon Comics) that have other cool designs you might like to recreate to run around JoeNinja world. How is your Banzai figure coming along? You mentioned in another of your Ninja threads you were going to try the pink bagged fellow. Did you just start by taking a CC rag head and painting it pink? After flipping through your ninjas it has occured to me that you have Slice, but not Dice? Last edited by Big IV; 08-25-2010 at 11:07 PM.. |

blackrazor1 - - Thanks! I'm not familiar with Naruto. Any cool lookin' ninjas in it? :P
89PILOT - - Thanks! Big IV - - I remember reading Rai back in the day, and I've definitely read all the Kabuki comics. Excellent stuff. I'd love to make some Kabuki figures, but Hasbro doesn't have enough of a variety in female parts in the 25th/ROC style. It makes me sad! I actually did post a Banzai in this thread. It's the second custom there. It's not the most successful one here, but it works for me. The original figure's mask actually isn't a bag or a shroud, it's a hard hockey-style mask with a rising sun embossed in it. I decided to reflect that with the paint on the Red Ninja head I used, but it doesn't really work all that well. Oh, well! As far as Dice goes, I've always thought that particular design is too too ugly, even for ninja force. Look at those damned knee pads! :P My Slice figure has Dice's mask on his belt, because I decided that Dice is dead. However, a couple people have asked about the lack of Dice, so I thought of a way I could fit dead-Dice into my NinJoe ranks--cybernetic ninja resurrected by Dr. Mindbender. I'm working on picking out some parts for it now, haha. It's a huge departure, but that's okay, so's my Ophelia. rocker82 - - Thanks much! I know a lot of people hate the neon ninjas, but I've always dug 'em. Tim 121RVC - - Thanks! That one was rough, and still needs some touch-ups, but it's probably the most successful update of this bunch. Thanks again, Tankers.

Ahhh. I see your Banzai figure now. It is a cool looking figure. I love his head. It doesn't scream Banzai to me (but then I was looking for a bagged face). Nice.
As I said in your Dice thread it looked good. Neat redo. I like the back story with Slice and Dice. |

Big IV - - Yeah, he didn't turn out as looking terribly "Banzai", but he's done and I'm movin' on to the next one. Glad you like the backstory.

I know a lot of people hate the neon ninjas, but I've always dug 'em. Neon was popular then. People even put it on their bodies. Doesn't mean it was a good idea. I personally hated most of the Ninja Force designs over all. Bright colors and non-martial arts gear and such. For example, Hasbro made a manriki-gusari, nunchaku hybrid thing for Dojo, but forgot the chain in the middle. Round I I liked Storm Shadow, except he was a traitor. Best Kama of all RAH. I liked Dojo, bright colors aside. I really liked Nunchuck, for his commando colors. I wasn't a ninja freindly collector back then. He seems out of synch now. I hated T'Jbang. Your Banzai looks like a repaint of him and if you hated Dice's boot tops, you must hate T'Jbang's soccer shin guards with knee pads? He looks like he should be playing field hockey or is the beat down guy of the dojo. I liked the red version of Slice, though I didn't get the face mask, at the time. I liked Dice alot, even with the flambouyant boot tops. The Ninja Viper was the prize that year. I wish Hasbro made him again! Round II I liked the design of Snake Eyes, even if the execution was lacking. I hate him as a full blown ninja anyways. Ninja trained OK, but not super-ninja-commando-man. I liked Zartans head for a Zandar update, and use it as such. The rest of him is crap, as well as the return of the compound bow and Kama junior. Whats up with a glowing orange Spearhead machete? Night Creeper? Yeah, right! The original, I get. Not this version. Looks like a T.A.R.G.A.T. with a M.A.S.K. helmet. Again, the return of the compound bow and Kama junior. Whats up with a glowing blue Spearhead machete? Scarlett? Need I say more? Banzai, I just don't understand. Bushido, I hated back then. Looking at him now, I think he is awesome, beside the red detailing. Slice 2, sherbert anyone? Joking aside, some of the best RAH martial arts weapons done. T'Gin-Zu is a nice mold repainted lame. I like yours much better. Red Ninja looks nothing of the sort. Looks more like a crazy Cobra Urban trooper. Whats really sad is that some Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat figures using the same molds made better looking toys.

Um. Yeah? LOL
I know that the Ninja Force featured some pretty awful designs. I like them anyway.
