I've really been loving the new PoC re-imaginings for the heroes and villains of the Joeverse, but so far, the Storm Shadows have missed the mark for me. I wanted something more like his original conceit - an all-white ninja. Insane, but awesome. So I kitbashed the Resolute legs onto the PP Storm Shadow's body. I had to modify/lower the neck so the Resolute head would look natural.
No paint, and we're ready to go. Thoughts? Josh! www.joshuaizzo.com joshuaizzo.com |

I too hate the POC SS. I appreciate how Hasbro is taking new strides on character redesigns; however, POC SS looks more psychopath than cunning ninja.
I think your version is a start, but those legs just don't look right on that torso b/c the upper legs are a bit wide. Also, I'm not sure if those lower legs (old school ninja shoes) should ever be matched with a modern looking jacket with metal zippers. Don't get me wrong, I see where you wanted to go with this and it's a good start. I just don't think you're there yet but keep it up. NEVER STOP CUSTOMIZING!!!!!

I think the head was a great choice but I'm gonna have to agree with lance on the legs. They're a bit bulky up top. A simple head swap mght have just done the trick. I respect the thought you put into it though. I'm gonna have to do something similar with my pp ss.

Thanks gang. I was tempted to paint the feet white, but it was too much work. What about the legs from the Hall of Heroes SS? That's all white, a little thinner and more streamlined.
I can't get used to the pants and sneakers.... Josh! |

Try adding a belt, it'll detract from the wider hips, and should make the jacket flow better with the pants.
Great work on SS and SE though!!

Rascal - thanks mate. I've only recently begun experimenting with Joes....what would be a good belt to add? Something black, maybe, to mimic the original figure is what I'm thinking....
Any suggesstions? Josh! |

Yeah, go with a black belt for sure. There's a ton you could choose from, lots of the ROC figures had removable belts. Or you could make your own with sculpt, fabric, or heck even a twist tie.

I like what you've done here.
I passed on POC SS (but not much else. I'm liking the POC line as a whole). Just didn't care much for it. But this is a nice modern take on the classic SS look. Great job! |
